Honeytree Nursery goes modular
RISE worked with Skanska under their Local Education Partnership framework to provide additional classrooms for Honeytree Day Nursery, a reception area, and an improved outdoor play space.
To reduce installation time and disruption prefabricated modular units were provided.
RISE designed their supports which consist of masonry piers over shallow concrete foundations built at different heights in order to account for the site level differences. The piers followed a three meter grid, unless drainage runs were in the way, in which case a steel beam was provided. RISE designed new manhole connections to the existing foul and storm drainage.
To ensure a level threshold between the front entrance and the play area, the existing ground levels have been re-graded and carefully designed walkways and fencing installed.
Even though we are not part of the Local Education Partnership framework RISE have experience of working within it, and provided a simple solution which was quick on site.
