A former retirement home owned by Bristol City Council has been demolished to allow for the redevelopment of 35 no. residential dwellings maximizing the development of Affordable Homes, especially for Social Rent. The site is 0.75 hectares and fairly flat located on a junction bordered to the East and South by privately-owned residential properties and to the West by a Care Home, Humphrey Repton House.
We are working with AHR to secure planning while designing the underground drainage services, highways, street lighting as well as foundtaions and superstructures.
Although the drainage looked straightforward, the existing drainage point is shallow and our drainage calculations showed that a pump was required. By repositioning the drainage attenuation tanks and carefully considering the levels of the houses, RISE managed to mitigate the pumping station altogether.
